I would like to share my experience of a visit to your Birstall branch last Friday 4th March when I drove my mother and father from Chester in appalling weather and traffic conditions to meet with Christopher and the team. My father (aged 88) suffers with macular degeneration and is seeking some improvement in his vision to be able to read again and recognise faces. The 4.00pm appointment was to try various clip on lenses which deflect light to different parts of the retina outside the macula in an attempt to improve central vision. Christopher was exceptionally sympathetic to my father’s condition and he eventually found (after trialling many sets of lenses) a combination of lenses and magnifying boxes which has given my father tremendous hope that his sight can improve. I cannot thank your team enough for the experience of that afternoon, we arrived tired and thirsty, and left one and a half hours later with a strong sense of achievement. Please pass on these comments to the right people in your organisation who will ensure that our comments do not go unnoticed.
